"Gilles des Bois" a neighbor woodcutter supplies me with washers, the diameter can vary (15 to about 40cm), usually they are between 15 and 25mm thick

I use different species: beech, oak, cypress, charm, pine, birch, micocoulier, plane tree…

For the strokes they are made mainly with indian ink applied with a very fine brush

The colour filling is first done in transparent acrylic ink, allowing the veins of the wood to appear, then the details are passed to the Posca after the first coats of varnish.

For the tools before being able to draw/paint the wood there is of course first a lot of sanding, the router for the rear cavity accommodating the mechanism and also possible reliefs on the visible face, the Dremel for possible finishes, drill for time marks etc.

The needles can be of various sizes and shapes according to your tastes, The mechanism works with 2 LR6 battery.

I sell them between 40 and 50€. For the illustrations, dimensions and nature of the wood, do not hesitate to ask me
